The Green House at Calvary

Columbus, GA

Operating: 2
In Development: 0
Square Feet per Home: 6200

The Green House at Calvary (a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church), is an assisted living, memory care home.  It is a special intimate community designed to be “home” and features just ten private bedrooms, each with a full bathroom. The common area is centered around the hearth and is easily accessible from each bedroom.  The kitchen adjoins the hearth and dining area, further enhancing the concept of “home”.  Just off the common area is a gated, attractive outdoor area affording the elders the opportunity to enjoy God’s natural beauty.  All areas are visible from the hearth and kitchen areas, providing protective oversight of all elders.  Twelve skilled care Green House homes are planned once we obtain a Certificate of Need or are granted a designated pilot project.

Sponsoring Organization History
For over two decades, Calvary Baptist Church has been serving senior adults in the Columbus area.  First with Calvary Community, an affordable senior housing community in 1989; then with The Gardens at Calvary, an assisted living facility in 2000.  In 2007, an assisted living, memory care home built on The Green House model was added to the ministry.  In 2011, an additional assisted living, memory care home was built on the same model.  The Calvary Community, Inc. Board continues to seek a state license to provide skilled nursing home care on the same campus using The Green House model.
